My Portfolio - December 2024 (and full year) update

December did not really move the needle, so this is the summary of the year 2024 (had to take a screenshot from the mobile version this time :-p ).

Almost 20% capital gain in 12 months, something crazy I was not expecting considering the mood around and some of the economic foundamentals.

I was able to invest a respectable 30K in 2024, which is not too bad, however 50% of this amount was driven by my bonus and I already know that 2025 will not bring the same favorable payout.

The market rally clearly comes from one geography in the portfolio - North America. Below you can see how the US (mostly) has outperformed everyone else by far. The P/E ratio of the North America ETF sits now at 28, which is much higher than the historical average of 20.

On the dividend front, I almost got to 6K Euro on a full year base and stopped at 5,762 Euro. Compared to 2023, the increase is around 18%. Dividends keep building up over time (check out the lines below, every line represents a year) albeit at a slower pace than at the beginning. Still, every month on average I get 480 Euro. Across all years, I brought home around 17,5K Euro of dividends.

Let's see what 2025 brings, I would hope for at least some correction to be able to buy cheaper. I will probably end up buying more Europe and Emerging Market to re-balance the portfolio during the year.

To everyone, Happy New Year!

    Hello.
May I ask which trading platform do you use?
    Thank you.

Sure! Historically I used DeGiro but in 2024 I moved to Trade Republic because they were offering good interest rates on cash deposit and had better commissions on the purchase of ETF (1 Euro basically).

Thank you very much for answering.
I just did the same move, opening a TradeRepublic portfolio. Besides what you mention, the saving plans are totally free, and you got a saveback too ... limited one, but ok.
I find your blog very very interesting, I am reading some of your articles, very good analysis in my opinion.
Do you mind if I ask you one more question?
Could be possible for you, to share the list of your portfolio as by today? A "photo" of January 2025 portfolio, to have an inspiring start for mine :)
Thank you very much for answering.
    Have a nice day.
